Job Description

We are looking for a People & Culture Partner to join our India Hub in Chennai. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning and supporting the entire employee lifecycle, from hiring and onboarding through employee support, payroll coordination, development moments, and offboarding. You will be the local People & Culture contact for the Chennai office, working closely with employees and leaders and collaborating with global People Business Partners and Talent Acquisition. As the role evolves, you will have the opportunity to own global People & Culture initiatives, such as leading the onboarding program, and to expand your remit in line with the growth of India Tech hub. The role offers broad exposure across employee experience, recruitment, compliance, and culture-building, in a fast-growing, international environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Own and support end-to-end People Operations across the employee lifecycle in India (Chennai), including onboarding, employment documentation, employee data management, and offboarding
  • Act as the local People & Culture contact for Chennai, ensuring compliance with Indian labor laws and regulations and serving as the primary point of contact for local authorities, government institutions, and statutory bodies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS (Bob), ensuring high data quality, confidentiality, and compliance with local and global requirements
  • Support People Operations processes globally, collaborating closely with the international People & Culture team on cross-border topics and initiatives
  • Ideally bring experience working with international HR setups and vendors (e.g. TriNet in the US)
  • Continuously review and improve People Operations processes to enhance efficiency, compliance, and the overall employee experience
  • Take ownership of office management topics and help maintain a welcoming, well-organized office environment
  • Organize internal events, team activities, and engagement initiatives
  • Help build and strengthen the local office hub while supporting remote and hybrid teams
  • Work closely with our global People Operations and Talent Acquisition team
  • Partner with recruiters and gain hands-on exposure to recruitment processes and candidate experience
  • Support collaboration across distributed and remote teams

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in HR Administration or HR Generalist roles
  • Hands-on experience across broad HR / People Operations topics as well office management
  • Previous experience working in small teams or scale-up environments
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
  • Comfortable working in remote or hybrid team setups, with experience collaborating in an international environment
  • Fully office-based role (5 days/week) to support multiplex office operations
  • Based in Chennai, Fully office-based role in Chennai (5 days/week) supporting office operations and working closely with remote teams.
