As the People & Culture Director UK, you will join the group P&C function at Valtech and focus on being a strategic partner to the UK MD and Leadership Team. You’ll lead a team of People & Culture Advisors and Business Partners and play a pivotal role in implementing and executing the group people strategy during a time of transformation, ensuring operational excellence while fostering a high-performance, cohesive and inclusive culture. This role is both strategic and hands-on - balancing long-term vision with day-to-day leadership. You will ensure operational excellence, employee engagement and growth, and organisational development while championing Valtech’s employee experience and culture. As a member of both the UK Leadership Team and Group P&C Function, you’ll align local initiatives with regional and global strategies, driving cultural alignment.
Job Responsibility:
Act as a trusted advisor to the UK MD and leadership team on all people and culture matters
Build strong relationships with leaders to influence decision-making and drive a positive people culture
Represent the P&C function on the UK Leadership Team and contribute to business strategy
Collaborate with other P&C leaders and the broader P&C Team to align local initiatives with regional and global strategies
Ensure consistent delivery of P&C processes, policies and projects across the region
Lead, inspire and grow a team of People & Culture Advisors and Business Partners across the UK
Foster collaboration, consistency, knowledge sharing and a high performing culture
Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support continuous learning and development
Allocate workload effectively and ensure consistent case management standards across the region
Lead the people integration efforts following recent acquisitions, ensuring a seamless cultural and operational transition
Align compensation, benefits, and employment practices across the UK
Advise on organisational design and orchestrate restructuring and change initiatives as needed
Own the end-to-end employee experience, from onboarding to offboarding
Champion Valtech’s employee experience and embed a strong, inclusive culture across the organisation
Lead engagement strategies and initiatives to nurture and improve employee satisfaction and reduce attrition
Ensure compliance with UK labour laws and HR best practices
Lead on complex ER cases and/or escalations
Align to global and regional initiatives to implement scalable global solutions, policies and processes
Contribute to the development and review of P&C policies and frameworks, ensuring they remain compliant with relevant employment legislation
Monitor regional compliance, including documentation, data security and audit requirements
Actively identify areas for continuous improvement in people systems, processes, data and policy
Reduce local manual admin and processes through partnership with People Systems and Shared Services, as well as embracing the use of AI
Review and interpret people metrics, spotting trends and recommending solutions
Leverage data insights to support decision‑making and identify areas for improvement
Partner with the global DEI function to localize and lead initiatives that foster inclusion and belonging
Support learning pathways for underrepresented groups and promote allyship
Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior People & Culture leadership role within the technology/digital sector, ideally within a consulting or agency environment
Demonstrated success in acting as and leading People & Culture Advisors and Business Partners
Proven experience coaching and/or leading HR professionals
Comfortable navigating ambiguity, solving complex problems and influencing at the executive level
Previous experience working within a multinational organisation, working with geographically distributed, remote teams
Comfortable operating in and managing multiple stakeholders in a matrixed, global organisation
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach
An energetic, resilient leader with a strong sense of ownership, a “We before Me” mindset and great communication skills
Strong expertise in employee relations, including complex case management
CIPD Level 5 or 7 qualification
Excellent knowledge of local labour law and HR best practice
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills across multiple locations or stakeholders
High level of professionalism, confidentiality and sound judgement
