As a People Advisor, you’ll play a critical role in delivering high-quality, support across the business. Operating as a trusted partner to your designated departments, you’ll support the full colleague lifecycle, while owning recruitment activity, employee relations support and day-to-day people processes. This is a hands-on, operational role with real responsibility and visibility. You’ll work closely with managers to build capability, coach best practice, and ensure consistent, compliant and engaging people experiences. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and commercially minded. The role also offers a clear development pathway into a future People Partner position, where you’ll take on more complex stakeholder groups, projects and strategic initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across your assigned departments
Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, absence, disciplinaries, grievances and exits
Coach managers on people processes, policies and best-practice people management
Own end-to-end recruitment for your designated areas, from role scoping through to offer
Partner with hiring managers to deliver efficient, inclusive and high-quality recruitment processes
Coach managers on interview techniques, selection decisions and candidate experience
Ensure onboarding and induction processes are people-first, engaging and effective
Continuously review and improve onboarding experiences to support early engagement and retention
Ensure HR governance standards are maintained, including accurate documentation and compliance
Complete essential HR administration activities implementation, with a focus on automation and introduction of AI where appropriate to reducing manual processes where possible
Maintain accurate employee records and data integrity within the HRIS
Support reporting and analysis to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement across departments
Contribute ideas, insights and recommendations based on departmental trends and employee feedback
Requirements:
Proven experience in a HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar operational HR role
Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
Experience managing end-to-end recruitment and partnering with hiring managers
Confident supporting employee relations matters with guidance and structure
Highly organised, resilient and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
Strong attention to detail with a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset
Confident using HR systems and MS Office
Nice to have:
CIPD qualification or working towards (Level 3 or 5)
Experience in a fast-paced retail, fashion or e-commerce environment
