Job Description

At Constellation, people are at the heart of everything we do. As our People Consultant for the Horse Racing Ireland Division, you will play a pivotal role in shaping exceptional experiences at three of Ireland’s most iconic racing venues. In a fast‑paced, dynamic environment where no two days look the same, you’ll be the driving force behind bringing amazing people together with unforgettable events. This is your opportunity to influence how we recruit, develop, and support our teams — ensuring that both our people and our clients feel valued, prepared, and set up for success. This newly created role supports the growth and long‑term stability of our Levy Ireland Horse Racing Division. You will own local recruitment, onboarding, and people processes, developing systems that strengthen team performance and elevate the experience for both staff and clients. Your leadership will help build a high‑performing, engaged, and motivated team, all while ensuring consistent, quality staffing delivery across Horse Racing Ireland venues.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as the first line of support for day‑to‑day operational or personnel challenges
  • Inspire collaboration, consistency, and accountability, creating a unified team culture
  • Support team growth through ongoing coaching, feedback, and development initiatives
  • Build trusted, long‑standing relationships with key venue contacts and internal stakeholders
  • Serve as a senior escalation point, ensuring service delivery concerns are addressed proactively
  • Champion high standards of professionalism and staffing quality at all times
  • Ensure all Horse Racing Ireland venues are fully and accurately staffed ahead of event days
  • Lead or support staffing for special events, ensuring smooth planning and execution
  • Manage no‑shows, performance concerns, and timesheet accuracy
  • Oversee overbook strategy to maintain fulfilment while controlling operational costs
  • Communicate pre‑event information clearly, consistently, and with the right level of detail
  • Verify timesheets to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Resolve discrepancies by liaising with the payroll team and operational leaders
  • Manually enter timesheets for staff who do not clock in and ensure all records are complete
  • Attract high‑caliber candidates aligned with Constellation’s values and client expectations
  • Lead or support assessments, onboarding sessions, introductory training, and upskilling
  • Help design and implement improved onboarding and training programs — such as structured weekly training plans
  • Continuously improve recruitment, training, and staffing processes to ensure efficiency and scalability
  • Maintain consistent operating standards, ensuring documentation, feedback, and rostering remain accurate and timely
  • Support the introduction of scalable, quality‑focused processes that enable strong long‑term growth

Requirements

  • A people‑first leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization and prioritization abilities in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment
  • Empathy, patience, and sound judgment when supporting a diverse workforce
  • Confident decision‑making and effective delegation skills
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for doing things the right way
  • Hospitality experience and some team‑management experiences are highly desirable
