We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded People Business Partner (HRBP) to provide strategic HR partnership to a defined business area at the MTC. This is a pivotal role responsible for aligning people, change and organisational strategy—delivering a proactive people agenda that supports high performance, leadership capability, succession planning and cultural development. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, coaching and challenging where necessary, and ensuring people initiatives drive both engagement and business outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Be an active member of the leadership team—shaping and influencing business strategy and contributing to commercial decisions
Create and deliver people plans aligned with organisational goals and the HR strategy
Strengthen leadership capability through coaching, challenge, succession planning and talent development
Lead the implementation and analysis of employee engagement surveys, driving action plans to improve performance and culture
Partner with senior leaders to identify high‑potential employees and create development opportunities
Build leadership capacity and future‑focused succession plans using effective tools and processes
Provide expert advice on people‑related risks, opportunities and their business impact
Support and deliver HR initiatives across Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing
Work with HR Centres of Expertise (L&D, Reward, Talent Acquisition, HR Shared Services) to ensure high‑quality delivery
Promote best practice across the wider organisation and support continuous improvement
Lead change programmes and ensure cross‑functional collaboration to meet project deadlines
Use people data to analyse trends, diagnose issues and create interventions that improve performance
Role‑model HR professionalism, standards and behaviours across the function
Requirements:
Strong commercial awareness
Up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
Experience advising managers at all levels with confidence and credibility
Excellent communication skills—written and verbal—with strong presentation capability
Experience using HRIS/ERP systems and strong MS Office skills
Strong numeracy skills and confidence using people data
Ability to act as a trusted advisor and build high‑impact relationships
Degree calibre and/or CIPD qualification
Highly confidential, discreet and diplomatic
Assertive when required, able to influence effectively
