Job Description

Why Greencore? Following the combination with Bakkavor in January 2026, we’re one of the UK’s leading creators of convenience food, driven by a simple purpose: to make every day taste better. As a vibrant and fast-moving business, we’re proud to employ over 28,000 talented colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots in the UK and the US. Together, we bring delicious food to life. Our products cover every meal occasion from breakfast through to dinner and dessert, with lunch and snacking in between. In FY25, our shared passion helped us achieve combined revenues of approximately £4bn. Our extensive direct to store (DTS) network, with 17 depots across the UK, allows us to deliver fresh and frozen food both our own and from trusted partners to thousands of stores every day, ensuring consumers enjoy the very best, whenever and wherever they shop. What You'll Be Doing Working closely with site and functional leaders, you'll provide expert advice and practical people solutions that support business performance, strengthen leadership capability and create a positive colleague experience. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to influence change, support organisational growth and help shape an engaging workplace culture. As a trusted partner to managers and leaders, you will: Build strong relationships with site and functional leaders, providing practical advice, guidance and challenge to support business objectives. Support and coach managers on a wide range of people matters, helping them confidently manage performance, attendance, conduct and employee wellbeing. Lead colleague engagement initiatives, including communication activities, engagement surveys, colleague forums and feedback programmes, turning insights into meaningful actions. Manage employee relations cases, ensuring issues are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation and company policies. Develop positive relationships with trade unions and colleague representatives, supporting effective consultation and engagement. Work with our Centres of Excellence to support talent development, succession planning and learning initiatives, helping to build future capability across the business. Support organisational change projects and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring colleagues are engaged and people impacts are managed effectively. Promote compliance with employment legislation, data protection requirements, company policies and our human rights commitments. Contribute to the ongoing development of people practices that create an inclusive, high-performing workplace. This role is based on core daytime hours, working Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Flexibility is required, as there will be occasions when you'll need to work a later shift (up to 10:00pm) to support meetings. There may also be occasional requirements to work weekends or Bank Holiday Mondays to meet business needs.   What We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced HR professional who combines sound technical knowledge with excellent relationship-building skills. You'll bring: MCIPD or FCIPD qualification (working towards) or relevant experience. Previous experience in an HR Advisor, People Advisor or HR Business Partner role. Ideally, experience within a manufacturing, logistics or distribution environment. Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice. The ability to build trusted relationships with managers at all levels. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. A collaborative approach and a genuine passion for creating positive colleague experiences. At Greencore we put our people at the core. We celebrate their differences and help everyone to be themselves at work. Together we make every day taste better. If this sounds like you join us, grow with Greencore and be a part of driving our future success.
