Job Description:

Group Pensions Manager - 24 Month FTC. Role Purpose: We are looking for a Pensions Manager who will lead a 12 month programme to document, assess and consolidate the organisation’s pension landscape, working closely with the Head of Shared Services, the Reward team, and the Broker. The role’s goals are to simplify governance and administration, improve member outcomes and engagement, and ensure robust compliance with UK pensions legislation and auto enrolment duties.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver a time bound review and optimisation of pension schemes, establishing a single source of truth covering scheme structures, contribution models, providers, costs, membership, and governance
  • Ensure regulatory and governance compliance across auto-enrolment, certification, and re-enrolment, including management of beneficiary nominations, closed/legacy schemes, and historic Beckmann Rights
  • Develop and evaluate practical consolidation and simplification options (full or partial), supported by clear financial modelling (provider fees, transition costs, AMCs, and communication impacts)
  • Conduct market benchmarking to inform recommendations on contribution structures, charges, provider services, and member engagement practices
  • Design and deliver targeted member engagement activities to improve scheme participation, beneficiary completion, and investment awareness within the contract period
  • Produce clear decision support materials for Board and Remuneration Committee, including options papers, financial analysis, benchmarks, and recommendations
  • Translate approvals into delivery-ready plans, coordinating providers, trustees, payroll, and internal stakeholders to execute agreed changes and migrations
  • Own stakeholder communications, progress reporting, and governance documentation, providing regular, transparent updates to senior leadership
  • Maintain auditable compliance records and work closely with Payroll to validate contribution calculations across pay frequencies, ensuring all deliverables are completed within agreed timelines

Requirements:

  • Significant experience managing UK DB schemes and provider relationships
  • Strong knowledge of auto enrolment, scheme governance, and trustee liaison
  • Financial modelling skills (fees, AMCs, transition costs) and options appraisal
  • Excellent project delivery and stakeholder communication
  • able to simplify complexity and influence

  • Pension Plan Management: Provide operational management of the company's supplemental pension plans, acting as the primary point of contact for pension providers, external pension administrators and internal stakeholders. This includes managing the relationship with external providers, overseeing the plan administration, reviews of providers and investment funds, as well as ensuring compliance with local regulations in each country
  • Communication & Engagement: Develop and implement pro-active communication strategies to enhance employee understanding and engagement with pension plans. This includes creating educational materials, conducting presentations, and addressing employee queries concerning pensions and retirement savings plans
  • Governance & Compliance: Manage regular pension governance reviews and oversee all aspects of the pension operations ensuring adherence to governance requirements. Stay abreast of legislative changes impacting pensions across the EMEA region and implement necessary adjustments. In particular, act as a subject matter expert for the Netherlands Future Pension Act, ensuring compliance and effective change management
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including HR, Finance, Payroll, and Legal, to ensure seamless pension plan management and a joined-up approach to benefits delivery. Build and maintain strong relationships with external pension providers and advisors
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor industry trends, best practices, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities to enhance the company's pension offerings and ensure they remain competitive and relevant for our workforce.
