Requirements

3 years of occupational experience in the subject field or in a closely related field
Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which he or she is assigned
Completion of at least one (1) years’ experience teaching courses related to registered nursing or completion of a post-baccalaureate course which includes practice in teaching registered nursing
Must demonstrate training in educational methods, testing and evaluation and evidence strength in instructional methodology, delivery and techniques as indicated by evaluation by supervisory personnel within 30 days of beginning instruction
Working with online learning management systems to further engage the student learning process desirable
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS office products as needed
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college which shall include courses in nursing, or in natural, behavioral, or social sciences relevant to nursing practice (BRN regulation)
Completion of at least one (1) years’ experience teaching courses related to RN or completion of a post-baccalaureate course which includes practice in teaching registered nursing (BRN regulation)
Current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in California required

Job Responsibility

Provides patient care and performs patient care procedures (EKG, Accu checks, CPR, crutches, Ace bandage application, splint application, wound cleansing, dressing, immobilization, medication administration under medical/nursing direction, IV insertions, IO insertion and EJ insertions, Foley catheterization, intubation, re-assessment of patient condition and status, documentation on the EMR, independent transportation to inpatient units, oxygen administration, cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation, spinal stabilization and immobilization, extrication of patients)
Responds to code and trauma activations in the ED and on the hospital campus
Provides patient transportation within the Emergency Department and on the hospital campus
Consults as needed with supervising nurses and ED physicians
Maintains strict patient confidentiality
