Job Description:

The rehabilitation psychologist will provide services to children and adolescents who are admitted for interdisciplinary treatment on the inpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) service. There will be opportunities for new program development and training of psychology practicum students.

Job Responsibility:

  • Inpatient assessment and consultation to formulate diagnostic impressions and treatment plans
  • Provide psychotherapeutic intervention to patients throughout their admission
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines
  • Facilitate or provide brief psychotherapy follow-up after discharge
  • Attend care team meeting weekly and huddle 3x/week
  • Conduct assessments based on clinical interview
  • Formulate an appropriate diagnosis
  • Write appropriate treatment plans
  • Collaborate with appropriate guardians
  • Provide clinical supervision of Psychologist I, predoctoral interns and/or graduate practicum students
  • Conduct forensic evaluations and provide court testimony as an expert witness when directed
  • Select, administer, and interpret psychological instruments
  • Write appropriate discharge plans
  • Manage clients in crisis

Requirements:

  • Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA approved training program
  • license eligible or currently licensed as a Licensed Practicing Psychologist from the N.C. State Board of Examiners of Practicing Psychologists
  • BLS required per policy guidelines
