The rehabilitation psychologist will provide services to children and adolescents who are admitted for interdisciplinary treatment on the inpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) service. There will be opportunities for new program development and training of psychology practicum students.
Job Responsibility:
Inpatient assessment and consultation to formulate diagnostic impressions and treatment plans
Provide psychotherapeutic intervention to patients throughout their admission
Work collaboratively with other disciplines
Facilitate or provide brief psychotherapy follow-up after discharge
Attend care team meeting weekly and huddle 3x/week
Conduct assessments based on clinical interview
Formulate an appropriate diagnosis using DSM standards
Write appropriate treatment plans
Collaborate with appropriate guardians
Provide clinical supervision
Conduct forensic evaluations and provide court testimony
Select, administer, and interpret psychological instruments
Demonstrate knowledge of various treatment modalities
Write appropriate discharge plans
Manage clients in crisis
Requirements:
Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA approved training program
license eligible or currently licensed as a Licensed Practicing Psychologist from the N.C. State Board of Examiners of Practicing Psychologists
BLS required per policy guidelines
pediatric psychology experience and specific interest in the physical medicine and rehabilitation population preferred
