Responsible to evaluate and treat of patients with a variety of pediatric disorders, work cooperatively with the interdisciplinary team and department to achieve goals and objectives for the provision of optimal patient care services.
Job Responsibility:
Provides appropriate and comprehensive evaluations, re-evaluations and treatments through discharge
Evaluates, plans, directs and implements patient care using evidence-based practice
Practices within the legal boundaries of Massachusetts license
Provides appropriate direction to licensed staff working under their plans of care
Directs other licensed and non-licensed personnel as required
Follows the organization’s infection control standards
Maintains patient safety practices
Identifies impairments that reflect an accurate assessment of the patient’s status
Establishes goals in collaboration with the patient
Develops an appropriate plan of care
Implements appropriate treatment interventions
Provides initial and ongoing patient education and/or home exercise program
Interacts with patients and family in a compassionate manner
Discharges patient from service when skilled therapy is no longer appropriate
Supports South Shore Health and department mission, vision and values
Adheres to South Shore Health policies and procedures
Follows department standards for completing all documentation, discharge and charge entry
Writes clear and complete documentation
Adheres to all guidelines and standards for documentation
Takes responsibility to provide accurate information during handoff

Requirements:
MS in Speech Language Pathology from accredited school required
