Job Description

An acute care hospital is looking for Pediatric Nurse Practitioners to provide critical night shift coverage for the PICU, Stepdown PICU, and PICU DOU. The night shift covers 16 PICU beds and 8 DOU beds, with the APP serving as the primary provider for up to 8 patients. Care is delivered within a shared model in collaboration with the PICU Attending, Fellow, and Resident team.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct physical exams, record medical histories, and perform diagnostic tests
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with scope of practice and hospital protocols
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient progress

Requirements

  • Active California Nurse Practitioner License
  • Active BLS certification
  • DEA
  • Board Certified in Acute Care
  • 2 years of pediatric experience required
