MPLT Healthcare is looking for physicians who Understand the Urgency, Never Give Up, and Have the Courage to Excel in the forever changing medical industry! We have numerous opportunities for an experienced Pediatric EM with highly competitive pay rates in Boston, MA. Position Details: 9 bed pedi pod within a larger ED. We see about 17k patients per year. We are 24/7 coverage and double covered 1-11 with a pedi NP. Our shifts are typically 8.5 hour shifts although we do have some 12 hour shifts on Thursdays.

  • Perform detailed histories and physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and develop and execute a wide range of care plans using sound clinical reasoning and critical thinking
  • Engage in consultations with subspecialty services to aid in patient care
  • Perform emergency medicine procedures (including but not limited to laceration repairs, incision and drainage, lumbar punctures, joint reductions, splinting, arthrocentesis, removal of nasal/ear foreign bodies, local nerve anesthesia and blocks)
  • Develop discharge care plans with patients and families including prescribing medications and confirming primary care or specialty care follow-up
  • Work to promote and encourage optimal and realistic patient goals
  • Communicate with patients and families in a respectful manner leading to compassionate and empathetic care
  • Instruct and counsel patients regarding physical and mental health issues
  • Assist in the education of medical and physician assistant students rotating in the department
