Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Active and unencumbered PA license in California
National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
At least one year of clinical experience in their area of specialty
Certifications: BLS, PALS

Job Responsibility

Requirements

Must have an active APP license in the state of California
Must be able to commute to our San Rafael office during scheduled shifts
A minimum of 4 years of general pediatric experience as an advanced practice provider, particularly with newborns and infants, including experience caring for infants with complex medical needs in an outpatient setting

Job Responsibility

Provide direct patient care and clinical oversight that optimizes outcomes through population-based implementation of evidence-based care
Be accountable for improving clinical outcomes for empaneled pediatric patients by overseeing their medical care
Engage directly in patient care as a Pomelo provider providing care for acute issues as well as ongoing health education and care coordination
Identify and utilize cross-functional team members to address patient needs
Review complex patient cases, particularly for infants who are in or transitioning home from the NICU, develop care plans, and support other members of the clinical team in providing them with evidence-based care
Monitor adverse events and hold clinical reviews to identify areas for improvement in Pomelo’s protocols
Lead development and review of evidence-based medical protocols and algorithms related to pediatric care
Actively participate in on-call schedules including overnight and on weekends as needed

Associate degree required
Bachelors required to perform duties of a Technical Consultant
Three years critical care in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and/or Neonatal Critical Care Unit, or three years Pediatric Emergency Department experience, 2000 hours in a level 2-3 NICU
Critical care transport experience preferred
BLS required
Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care as an ACCS (Adult Critical Care Specialist) or NPS (Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist) as required by specialty
ACLS, PALS, NRP and STABLE required as appropriate to population served and/or specialty
Intubation certification required
ATLS, C-NPT preferred (will be required within the first year of employment on the team)
Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license required

Job Responsibility

Provide safe, timely, high-quality care during the transport of all neonatal and pediatric patients, and patients determined by the transport medical directors needing transported by the team
Perform all duties stated in Registered Respiratory Therapist-Critical Care job description
Provide family-centered care to infants from birth to pediatric patients during inter-hospital transports
Initiate emergency protocols independently following ACLS, PALS, NRP, and STABLE guidelines
Practice in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and standards of the hospital
functions within the guidelines of the protocols and order sets for the transport program that are reviewed and agreed upon by medical directors
Communicates effectively with team members
This position functions as an expert resource for direct care throughout the system and supports all staffing levels
Responsibility for the delivery of Respiratory Care to all patients, to include all therapeutic treatments, oxygen therapy, arterial blood gas draws and analysis, ventilator management, airway management, and high risk deliveries and to include intubation with proper certification
