Job Responsibility:
Curriculum Excellence: Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a wide array of disciplines including team sports, athletics, gymnastics, and health-related fitness
Theoretical Instruction: Deliver engaging classroom-based lessons for GCSE PE or BTEC Sport, making complex topics like anatomy, physiology, and sports psychology accessible
Extracurricular Leadership: Coordinate and lead after-school clubs, inter-school fixtures, and sports days, fostering a competitive yet inclusive sporting culture
Inclusive Coaching: Differentiate your coaching styles to ensure students of all abilities and backgrounds can participate and make progress
Safety & Ethics: Maintain a safe and respectful environment in all sporting facilities, ensuring students understand the importance of fair play and sportsmanship
Assessment & Tracking: Monitor student performance in both practical and theoretical elements, providing feedback that helps them reach their physical and academic goals
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is mandatory
A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field
Proven experience teaching the UK PE curriculum at the Secondary level
A passion for a wide variety of sports and a willingness to contribute to the school's fixture list
Strong classroom (and field) management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young people
An enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
