Job Responsibility:
Plan and implement lessons for Reception to Key Stage 2 children in areas of ball skills and team games, gymnastics and dance
Plan and implement lessons and practices for Sports Day
Take before or after school practice clubs
Organise and facilitate team game matches internally and amongst neighbouring schools
Keep up to date on all curriculum aspects through internal and external insets
Introduce and teach correct use of a variety of sport equipment
Where necessary, maintain children’s attendance records, assessment records, other required records and write reports
Plan, evaluate, and revise the PE curriculum, lesson content, materials and methods of teaching
Review and update annually the PE Policy
Select, review and maintain relevant resources
Form good relationships with all members of staff, children and parents
Requirements:
Experience teaching at primary level PE
The ability to motivate pupils and promote positive attitudes to learning
Strong classroom management skills to maintain a respectful and effective learning environment
Confidence in working in partnership with parents and colleagues
A commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
An understanding of differentiated planning and assessment to support individual pupil needs
A professional approach to school policies, expectations, and community involvement
Smart, professional presentation in line with the school dress code
