Job Description

Justteachers is currently recruiting for an energetic and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Broughton Astley from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to promoting physical activity, teamwork and healthy lifestyles among young people. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Physical Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to participate and achieve both inside and outside the classroom.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Teach a broad range of sports and physical activities in line with the national curriculum
  • Encourage participation, teamwork and positive attitudes towards physical education
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress and attainment
  • Differentiate learning activities to meet the needs of all learners
  • Support extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures and enrichment activities where appropriate
  • Promote health, wellbeing and physical fitness throughout the school community
  • Maintain a safe learning environment and ensure all health and safety procedures are followed
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the success of the PE department
  • Participate in parents’ evenings, departmental meetings and wider school events

Requirements

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching Physical Education within a secondary school setting
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge across a variety of sports and activities
  • Be able to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
  • Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Possess strong communication and organisational abilities
  • Be committed to promoting student participation and achievement
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Be able to provide references covering recent employment history
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service
