Unilever is currently hiring for R&D PCL Home&Hygiene Product Technologist (Maternity Cover for 11 Months)! Function: R&D Reports to: Home & Hygiene Product Manager Scope: Turkey & Middle East Location: Istanbul - Turkey Terms & Conditions: Full time, 11 Months

Job Responsibility:

  • Understanding of the consumers needs and coming up with new ideas to translate these to actionable improvements in all category platforms.
  • Participating in Project Management Meetings for product innovations together with multi functional teams to share inputs for the R&D tasks throughout project life cycle.
  • Lead formulation work-stream in innovation & cost efficiency projects and product superiority program to deliver formulation changes that meets consumer and brand requirements, which are safe, compliant with country specific regulations and compatible with packaging & supply chain.
  • Screen and assess enabling technologies together with Global R&D counterparts based on product performance and product quality data to identify formulation routes according to given product action standards.
  • Ensure product artworks such as product claims, usage instructions, caution statements, ingredient lists are prepared according to country specific regulations and Unilever guidelines.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and Unilever Procurement to source new or alternative raw materials to meet formulation requirements.
  • Work together with Supply Chain and Quality teams to give R&D support for consumer product complaints and factory quality problems.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities according to business needs.
  • Lead Product claim co-creation process together with Consumer Insight and Brand teams. Ensure these product claims are substantiated via providing required technical data and compliant with country specific legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with Universities and 3rd Parties for performance/analytical tests, claim endorsements to deliver business needs.
  • Being Knowledge Based Selling (KBS) Champion in Home & Hygiene Category to ensure KBS program is aligned with Brand Teams, developed according to business priorities and presented in various internal / external platforms.
  • Close coordinatization with Global R&D teams to ensure smooth deployment of Big Bet projects according to business plans.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Textile Engineering
  • Turkish speaking is must
  • Working experience in R&D at least for two years. (Preferably in FMCG)
  • Project Management experience in R&D.
  • Formulation chemistry – understanding of ingredients, ability to modify and manipulate formulations
  • Product claims generation, definition and substantiation
  • Good Verbal/Written Communication Skills in English
  • Fluent Verbal/Written Communication Skills in Turkish
  • Working with people with Multicultural Backgrounds
