This position reports to the Production Controls and Logistics (PC&L) group. Job Responsibility:
Set the tone for their department by demonstrating the BorgWarner core beliefs
Create, analyze, and deliver reports impacting KPI’s to all levels of the organization to gage effectiveness around continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate and share ideas generated by continuous improvement efforts within the department and throughout the facility
Facilitate and lead team to implement and complete continuous improvement projects
Facilitate communication between team, support groups and management
Understand, train, and develop employee’s all the duties as outlined in the PC&L job descriptions
Mediate any conflict between employees and departments and escalate to management team if necessary
Communicate PC&L objectives that reflect key performance, while being held accountable for the department’s performance
Delegate daily duties to team members and support operator activities as necessary
Actively participate in leadership development activities sponsored by BorgWarner
Evaluate employee performance during and after orientation period and request additional training for employee if needed
Complete Team Leader standard work (i.e. Reporting downtime, safety incidents, quality, etc.)
Compile, store and retrieve PC&L data as necessary
Coordinate activities to ensure internal and external customers’ needs are met
Support change management initiatives
Complete and submit Monthly Safety training
Complete initial investigation and documentation for all safety incidents
SAP entries and transactions required as needed
Use appropriate hold tags to process defective parts through nonconforming material procedure
Support while driving self-development to allow for department flexibility through learning multiple positions and supporting based off business need
Safely operate all equipment and maintain certifications within the PC&L fleet
Provide support on inventory management by performing root cause analysis for all variations with inventory as needed
Assist in training and educating employees within the department
Ensure safety measures are followed and always maintained during material movement
Safely perform all tasks assigned including all positions within the PC&L department
Read and understand work instructions and/or follow instructions to execute the material flow requirements
Manually load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, baskets, and shelves on foot and by hand as required
Accurately and timely enter materials transactional information into SAP and other systems as required
Read electronic and manual bill of materials, pull sheets, pick sheets to retrieve and deliver necessary materials
Use appropriate deviation areas, hold tags, to process defective parts through nonconforming material procedure
Load/Unload materials into trailers adhering to Dock Safety Protocol
Meet PC&L key performance metrics and adhere to the BorgWarner beliefs
Adherence to FIFO standards throughout all storage areas and material flow points
Support training for all new hires/cross training activities

Requirements:
High School diploma/GED or basic skills assessment required
Knowledge of SAP/ERP systems preferred
Experience in fast-paced industrial lean environment preferred
Prior Material Handler and Team Lead experience preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Flexible work schedule/ability to work overtime as needed
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Develop effective relationships across all departments and teams
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP software, Leading to Lean, Excel Spreadsheet, PowerPoint Presentations and Word
Complete DOT HAZMAT training prior to material movement of hazmat products (if applicable)
Ability to work from heights
Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs. repetitively and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
Stepping up and down off lift
walking long distances over extended periods
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
Repetitive motion activities including but not limited to box cutting, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts

Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays
Punctual attendance to work is required
Wear all PPE as required and adhere to box cutting safety protocols
Support 5S/Housekeeping activities as required
