We are looking for a rigorous and discreet Payroll Technician to join the finance/HR team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance with legislative standards, and timely delivery. In this role, you will act as a key resource for employees regarding pay inquiries, demonstrating both technical expertise and excellent interpersonal skills.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the full-cycle payroll process (weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly) for all employees
Ensure all deductions (taxes, RRSP, insurance, union dues) are calculated correctly in accordance with provincial and federal laws
Prepare and submit payroll remittances (DAS) and generate year-end reports (T4, Relevé 1)
Act as the primary point of contact for pay-related inquiries, ensuring confidentiality and professional communication
Perform bank reconciliations, GL entries, and periodic audits of payroll data
Participate in process optimizations and stay updated on changing labor laws
Requirements:
DEC in Accounting, Human Resources, or equivalent
PCP/SCCP certification (Canadian Payroll Association) is highly preferred
3+ years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, Workday, Nethris) and Excel
Bilingual (French and English)
Exceptional attention to detail, high level of integrity and confidentiality, and strong analytical skills
