Randstad is pleased to be partnering with our client, a high profile employer based in Brisbane’s inner suburbs. They are seeking an experienced Payroll Team Lead to join their team on a full-time and permanent basis.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage a team of payroll professionals, including Senior Payroll Officers and Payroll Officers, providing direction, support, and guidance
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of payroll, including weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and off-cycle processing of salaries and wages
  • Proactively identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and simplify payroll processes and time and attendance optimisation
  • Review and approve final banking files for all payroll payments and direct credits
  • Build and maintain relationships with third-party payroll providers and external vendors to ensure service levels (SLAs) are met
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and Systems teams, regarding new system requirements and IR interpretations
  • Support the testing and deployment of new systems configuration and lead change initiatives across the business

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role managing a team
  • Proven experience in managing end-to-end payroll for multiple awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a high-performing payroll team
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and a strong understanding of pay accuracy issues
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to undertake high-level consultations and negotiations
  • Proficiency in identifying and implementing efficiencies through a structured change management approach
