An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with a love of payroll to join the Payroll Team at Bettys & Taylors Group as a Payroll Team Leader, based at Pagoda House in Harrogate. Our family business is home to three iconic Yorkshire brands – Yorkshire Tea, Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate. This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week over five days. Reporting to the Payroll & Systems Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership to the Payroll Co-ordinators, with line management responsibility for the team. This will include supporting performance, coaching and development, and helping colleagues build capability and confidence in their roles. The Payroll Team Leader will provide hands-on technical, process and administrative support to the Payroll Team and the wider business, building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders while supporting payroll compliance and helping protect Bettys & Taylors’ reputation. The role will involve supporting day-to-day payroll processing, including weekly and monthly payroll reconciliations and month-end activities. You will also contribute to business change and project work that impacts payroll, including system updates, audits and PAYE-related projects. You’ll bring strong Excel skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyse information, identify issues and troubleshoot effectively. You’ll also be a confident administrator and co-ordinator who works well as part of a team. This role would suit a proactive, practical and solutions-focused individual.
