Our client is a VIC government organisation based in Narre Warren. They are currently seeking a Payroll Team Leader to come in and join their team on a temp contract until 31st July with possible extensions.
Job Responsibility
Team Leadership & Supervision: Supervise, train, and mentor Payroll Officers to enhance skills and ensure team performance
Payroll Operations & Integrity: Oversee end-to-end processing, maintenance, and distribution of payroll data while resolving queries efficiently
Financial Management & Budgeting: Manage the salary budget (including FBT), ensure accurate business unit costing, and complete GL and Superannuation reconciliations on time
Compliance & Workplace Safety: Stay updated on payroll legislation and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with the OH&S Act 2004
Data Management & WorkCover: Secure and maintain historical payroll records for compliance, and manage WorkCover reporting alongside the OH&S Coordinator
Departmental Collaboration: Support and assist department colleagues to achieve individual, team, and corporate goals
Requirements
High volume end to end payroll processing experience
Previous payroll leadership experience
Proven knowledge and experience with Chris21 system
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
Nice to have
Previous government experience
