Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with a love of payroll to join the Payroll Team at Bettys & Taylors Group as a Payroll Team Leader, based at Pagoda House in Harrogate. Our family business is home to three iconic Yorkshire brands – Yorkshire Tea, Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate. This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week over five days. Reporting to the Payroll & Systems Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership to the Payroll Co-ordinators, with line management responsibility for the team. The Payroll Team Leader will provide hands-on technical, process and administrative support to the Payroll Team and the wider business, building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders while supporting payroll compliance and helping protect Bettys & Taylors’ reputation. The role will involve supporting day-to-day payroll processing, including weekly and monthly payroll reconciliations and month-end activities. You will also contribute to business change and project work that impacts payroll, including system updates, audits and PAYE-related projects. You’ll bring strong Excel skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyse information, identify issues and troubleshoot effectively. You’ll also be a confident administrator and co-ordinator who works well as part of a team. This role would suit a proactive, practical and solutions-focused individual. You’ll be part of a highly motivated and dedicated team who sit at the centre of the business – keeping our employees paid accurately and on time.
