Job Description

We are seeking a Payroll Tax Specialist to support payroll tax compliance and reporting in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role is responsible for preparing, reconciling, and filing federal, state, and local payroll tax returns for multiple clients across various jurisdictions, with a strong focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare, reconcile, and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns for multiple clients across various jurisdictions
  • Assist with quarter-end and year-end processes, including payroll tax reconciliations and year-end forms
  • Maintain and reconcile unemployment tax rates
  • Research and resolve payroll tax notices and discrepancies
  • Work closely with internal teams, clients, and taxing authorities to address payroll tax inquiries
  • Submit required authorizations and agency documentation
  • Ensure timely filings

Requirements

  • Proven experience in payroll operations and financial data management
  • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and account reconciliation processes
  • Familiarity with managing vendor relationships and payroll vendor systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive financial information
  • Proficiency in payroll software and related technologies
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with clients and vendors
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and resolve discrepancies efficiently
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Hands-on payroll tax experience
