We are looking for a skilled Payroll Tax Specialist to join our clients team in Mesa, Arizona to work a hybrid schedule. In this role, you will focus on managing payroll tax operations, ensuring compliance, and handling complex reconciliations. This position offers the opportunity to work in a structured and process-driven environment while contributing to a collaborative team.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee payroll tax responsibilities across multiple states, ensuring compliance with regulations
Process and reconcile payroll tax data using proprietary systems
Handle payroll tax filings, including withholding, unemployment insurance, Social Security, and Medicare
Perform detailed reconciliations for large datasets to ensure accuracy
Prepare and submit tax payments and reports internally
Follow established procedures and documentation to complete tasks independently
Collaborate with team members to address payroll tax inquiries and provide solutions
Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables, for data analysis and reporting
Support quarterly-end processes, adhering to blackout dates and deadlines
Stay updated on changes in payroll tax laws and regulations
Requirements:
Minimum of 2-3 years of payroll experience, with a strong emphasis on payroll tax
Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and data analysis
Experience managing and reconciling large volumes of payroll tax data
Ability to navigate and learn proprietary systems effectively
Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines independently
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders
Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
Familiarity with payroll tax laws and requirements across multiple states
