We are looking for a Payroll & Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will help ensure accurate payroll processing, tax compliance, and responsive support for employees and internal stakeholders. This position is ideal for someone who can manage recurring deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to both payroll and broader finance operations.
Job Responsibility
Administer bi-weekly payroll activities in Workday, working closely with payroll leadership to maintain accuracy and timeliness
Process separation-related and other non-routine payroll runs in accordance with applicable state regulations and required timelines
Coordinate quarterly and year-end payroll tax reporting, wage filings, and related compliance activities with external partners
Review and maintain payroll deductions and benefit withholdings, and perform reconciliations to resolve discrepancies promptly
Prepare and support filings related to sales and use tax, personal property tax, and annual business registration renewals
Respond to employee and cross-functional inquiries involving payroll, deductions, and finance matters with clear and effective communication
Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to payroll and finance leaders, including documentation, reporting, and follow-up tasks
Contribute to ad hoc analysis, special assignments, and operational projects that support payroll and finance objectives
Requirements
3+ years of experience in payroll administration, including end-to-end payroll processing
Hands-on experience managing multi-state payroll in an environment with approximately 101 to 500 employees
Proficiency with Workday and ADP Workforce Now in support of payroll operations
Working knowledge of payroll tax reporting, wage filings, and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions
Experience reconciling payroll deductions, benefit contributions, and related payroll records
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet recurring deadlines
Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and maintain a high level of accuracy
