We are looking for a skilled Payroll Tax and Compliance Administrator to join our client's team in Lake Oswego, Oregon. This is a long-term contract position that requires expertise in payroll tax processes, compliance, and reporting for multi-state operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate tax filings, reconciling payroll entries, and improving payroll functions across multiple entities.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and file weekly tax deposits and ensure timely payments
Manage quarterly payroll tax reporting, including forms such as 940s and 941s
Address tax notices and resolve retrospective compliance issues
Align prospective payroll and tax processes, ensuring readiness for upcoming reporting periods
Handle workers’ compensation reporting and documentation
Reconcile payroll entries to the general ledger to ensure accuracy
Access and navigate state websites to file tax reports and maintain compliance
Oversee tax filings for multi-state operations
Streamline payroll functions and processes to improve efficiency across six entities
Support payroll operations for approximately 3,000 employees
Requirements:
Proven experience in full-cycle payroll and payroll tax administration
Expertise in handling multi-state payroll operations and compliance
Strong knowledge of payroll tax deposits and reporting processes
Familiarity with workers' compensation reporting requirements
Ability to reconcile payroll entries to the general ledger
Experience managing payroll for large employee bases, ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 employees
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a focus on streamlining processes
