Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as a Payroll Supervisor based in Winnipeg, MB. This is a new role that supports our expanding workforce as P&H continues to grow. As a Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end payroll operations for Canadian employees across the Company divisions, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with federal and provincial regulations, and continuous improvement of payroll processes. Your leadership will ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies while driving process improvement and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Job Responsibility:
Manage full-cycle payroll processing, including bi-weekly, off-cycle, and exception processing
Supervise a payroll team, including workflow oversight and performance management
Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation, collective agreements, and internal controls to ensure quality and accurate payroll deliverables
Review end-to-end payroll processing for all employees
Develop and maintain payroll procedures, SOPs, internal controls and audit processes
Ensure effective communication and retention of confidential payroll information
Act as subject-matter expert for payroll systems
Resolve complex payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
Coordinate and perform year-end payroll activities, including T4s, T4As, and statutory filings
Support internal and external payroll audits
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field
PCP designation is required
Minimum 5 years of payroll administration experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
Strong knowledge of payroll systems
experience with UKG Pro considered an asset
Proven knowledge of Canadian payroll practices and legislation
Experience processing both unionized and non-unionized payrolls
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word and Excel
Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
High attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines
Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Ability and flexibility to work overtime as needed
