Job Responsibility:
Manage bi-weekly payroll operations, ensuring accuracy in wage calculations, deductions, taxes, and direct deposit processing
Maintain payroll documentation and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations
Supervise payroll staff, providing guidance, training, and support to resolve inquiries effectively
Generate payroll-related reports and assist with internal and external audits
Prepare journal entries related to payroll and contribute to month-end financial closing activities
Reconcile payroll accounts and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
Assist in budgeting and forecasting labor costs and payroll expenses
Compile financial reports related to payroll and employee benefits for management review
Identify and implement improvements to payroll and accounting workflows to enhance efficiency
Collaborate with finance and HR teams to ensure compliance and support audits and system upgrades
Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 4 years of payroll experience, with supervisory experience preferred
Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and accounting principles
Proficiency in payroll systems, with Paycor experience highly desirable, and advanced Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to solve problems effectively
Strong communication and organizational skills to manage payroll inquiries and team dynamics
Familiarity with month-end close processes and general ledger reconciliation
Nice to have:
Certification or experience in payroll processing for large organizations is a plus
