The Payroll Specialist/Supervisor oversees the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves managing payroll operations, troubleshooting discrepancies, and serving as a point of contact for payroll-related inquiries. The Payroll Specialist/Supervisor also assists with payroll reporting, audits, and system improvements.
Job Responsibility:
Process, review, and authorize payroll runs for all employee groups, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Maintain and update payroll records, employee data, and deduction information
Monitor compliance with wage, hour, and payroll regulations
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries from employees or management
Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including tax filings and year-end processes
Coordinate with HR, accounting, and finance teams to reconcile payroll information
Support audits by providing payroll data and documentation
Assist with payroll system upgrades, implementations, and process improvements
Supervise payroll team members, delegate tasks, and support training
Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred
Proven experience in payroll processing
Supervisory or lead experience is a plus
Proficiency with payroll software system Paylocity
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance standards
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Effective verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
