We are looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor/Manager to oversee payroll operations for a large-scale workforce in Glendale, California. This contract position requires a detail-oriented individual who can ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing while leading a skilled team. Job Responsibility:
Supervise payroll team members, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations
Manage full-cycle payroll processes, including bi-monthly payroll for over 500 employees across multiple states
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, staying informed of updates and changes
Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, answering employee inquiries about deductions, benefits, and payments
Audit payroll data for accuracy and compliance, identifying areas for improvement
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of employee data and payroll postings
Maintain and optimize payroll systems, including ADP Workforce Now, for efficiency and accuracy
Oversee payroll tax filings and withholding processes, coordinating with external auditors when necessary
Develop and implement strategies to streamline payroll operations and improve overall functionality
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and supervision
Proficiency in managing multi-state payroll and full-cycle payroll operations
Strong familiarity with payroll systems, particularly ADP Workforce Now
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable working with payroll software
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
