We are looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor/Manager to support a hospitality organization in Brooklyn, New York. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can oversee high-volume payroll operations with accuracy, consistency, and strong attention to compliance. The role will focus on managing end-to-end payroll activities across multiple states while partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll issues and improve processing efficiency.
Job Responsibility
Direct complete payroll processing for a large employee population, ensuring wages, deductions, taxes, and adjustments are calculated accurately and delivered on schedule
Oversee multi-state payroll activities and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Review payroll records for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues related to timekeeping, earnings, benefits, and tax withholdings
Coordinate with HR, finance, and operations teams to gather payroll data, validate changes, and support smooth payroll cycles
Prepare and analyze payroll reports, reconciliations, and audit documentation to support internal controls and leadership reporting
Monitor payroll deadlines and help streamline procedures to strengthen efficiency and reduce processing errors
Support payroll system usage and contribute to process updates, including work related to Paycom when applicable
Guide day-to-day payroll operations and serve as a resource for escalated employee and management questions regarding payroll matters
Requirements
Proven experience managing full-cycle payroll from data review through final processing and post-payroll reconciliation
Background handling payroll for more than 500 employees in a high-volume environment
Hands-on knowledge of multi-state payroll practices and payroll tax compliance requirements
Ability to identify discrepancies quickly and apply strong problem-solving skills to resolve payroll issues accurately
Experience working with payroll platforms
familiarity with Paycom is preferred
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across HR, finance, and operational teams
