We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a designated region in Boca Raton, Florida. This Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage payroll processing accurately, respond to employee questions with professionalism, and help resolve pay-related discrepancies in a timely manner. The role requires strong analytical ability, sound judgment, and the discretion to handle confidential payroll information while working closely with internal teams and site contacts.
Job Responsibility:
Process recurring payroll cycles accurately and on schedule for employees across multiple states.
Investigate payroll questions and compensation discrepancies, document each case as needed, and provide clear follow-up until resolution is reached.
Partner with facility contacts to clarify employee data, deductions, and other payroll items that affect timely and accurate payment.
Review payroll records, validate adjustments, and confirm earnings changes before final submission.
Reconcile payroll details prior to transmission to help ensure accuracy and completeness.
Prepare off-cycle, pay period, monthly, or quarterly payment requests based on business needs.
Generate and distribute payroll checks and related notifications in alignment with site-specific instructions.
Support the handling of garnishments, tax levies, and child support orders to promote timely and compliant processing.
Maintain organized payroll files and documentation, and assist with special assignments provided by payroll leadership.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3-5 years of experience administering multi-state payroll.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and management.
Proficiency with payroll and business software, including Excel, Word, Infinium, Kronos, and reporting tools such as ShowCase.
Experience working with payroll platforms and related systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, UKG, or similar applications.
Ability to manage sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.
Nice to have:
Familiarity with payroll-related functions such as benefits administration, deductions, auditing, and accounting support is preferred.
