We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Accountants Payable & Payroll Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and processing the Canadian payroll and payroll related accounting and reporting and administering the group benefits plan. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of payroll processes, while maintaining a high level of service and handling any payroll-related issues with professionalism.
Job Responsibility:
Process bi-monthly payroll for approximately 120 Canadian employees using Rippling platform
Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records for all employees
Proactively identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits or taxes matters
Assist with payroll reporting, ROE, T4, tax filings, and year-end documentation and reporting
Calculate and process payments to Workplace Safe and Insurance board (WSIB), Employer Health tax – EHT, and RRSP contributions
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and accuracy
Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed for management review
Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Communicate regularly with Rippling or our benefits provider to resolve any changes required
Stay up-to-date on Canadian payroll legislation and best practices
Support month-end and year end closing process
Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental and retirement plans
Account reconciliation to ensure all benefit-related accounts are accurate and up-to-date
Ensure accurate processing of all AP transactions (invoices, employee expense reports, credit card statements, etc.)
Oversee and, where necessary, process vendor and employee payments in accordance with established deadlines
Verify employee expenses reports in accordance with the organization’s policies
Maintain organized vendor and employee AP files
Respond to AP enquires from external and internal stakeholders
Review the AP subledger on a regular basis and make adjustments as necessary
Assist in the preparation for the annual audit
Assist overall month end process
Complete journal entries, as required
Analysis/reconciliation of accounts as required
Filing and other duties as needed
Requirements:
Proven experience processing full-cycle payroll and administering benefits within Canada
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, taxes, and benefits in Canada
