Our client is undergoing a major payroll transformation and is seeking a highly analytical, self-sufficient payroll professional to help stabilize and improve U.S. payroll operations. This is a critical hire for a team in transition, with an immediate need for someone who can step in, assess current processes, and drive payroll accuracy and compliance with minimal training. This is not a payroll data entry role. The ideal candidate will bring recent, hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN), strong systems aptitude, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to identify issues, improve workflows, and support a broader payroll modernization effort.
Job Responsibility:
Process end-to-end payroll for a workforce of more than 500 employees, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on schedule
Administer payroll activities across multiple states while applying applicable wage, tax, and compliance requirements
Support and help streamline U.S. payroll operations during a period of transition
Ensure payroll processes align with tax compliance requirements and payroll regulations
Partner on payroll remediation efforts tied to audit findings, tax notices, and compliance gaps
Work across payroll systems including ADP Workforce Now, UKG, SAP, and SAP SuccessFactors
Analyze payroll data for accuracy, trends, discrepancies, and process improvement opportunities
Use advanced Excel functions to transform, validate, and reconcile payroll data
Support union payroll considerations and multi-state payroll compliance
Quickly learn new systems and adapt to changing processes and priorities
Help create structure and stability within a team that is evolving rapidly
Requirements:
Recent ADP Workforce Now (WFN) experience required — must be hands-on within the last 2 years
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to investigate issues and improve processes
Experience with UKG, SAP, and SAP SuccessFactors
Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance and payroll laws
Experience supporting payroll in Pennsylvania and California highly preferred
Exposure to union payroll environments
Ability to work independently without extensive training
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Experience helping teams through system changes, process improvement, or payroll clean-up efforts
