Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated Payroll Specialist to join a Retail team located in Mississauga. The role involves processing high-volume biweekly payroll, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, collaborating with HR, and identifying opportunities to streamline payroll processes.

Job Responsibility:

Process bi-weekly and weekly payroll for over 1000 employees across Canada accurately and on time using ADP WFN and Ceridian Dayforce
Verify and reconcile timecards to ensure accuracy of hours worked, overtime, and paid time off
Calculate and process adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and other compensation elements
Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll tax regulations, including withholding and reporting requirements
Generate payroll reports and provide insights to management on payroll metrics, trends, and costs
Address employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and earnings statements
Collaborate with HR to onboard new employees and ensure accurate setup in the payroll system
Assist with year-end payroll processes, including T4 preparation and distribution
Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
Continuously identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of Canadian payroll experience is required
Multiprovince payroll processing experience is required
Experience with ADP WFN and Ceridian Dayforce is a requirement
PCP or PLP designation preferred
Experience working within retail or similar industries is a great asset
Knowledge of US Payroll is a great asset
