We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support a non-profit organization in Los Angeles, California on a Contract assignment running through August. This position will focus on accurate payroll execution and recruitment support within ADP Workforce Now, requiring hands-on expertise across payroll, time and attendance, and recruiting functions. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and a solid understanding of payroll compliance and employment practices.
Job Responsibility
Process full-cycle payroll accurately for a large employee population while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and internal deadlines
Manage multi-state payroll activities within ADP Workforce Now, ensuring employee records, earnings, deductions, and tax-related details are handled correctly
Import and review time and attendance data in ADP Workforce Now, resolve discrepancies, and prepare payroll information for timely processing
Support recruitment activity within ADP Workforce Now by posting openings and assisting with related system tasks tied to hiring workflows
Revise and maintain job descriptions so they remain current, clear, and aligned with organizational needs
Perform payroll-related quality checks and address errors proactively to help ensure smooth, accurate payroll runs
Collaborate with HR and internal stakeholders to support employee data updates, payroll inquiries, and recruiting coordination
Maintain organized records and documentation while handling sensitive payroll and HR information with discretion
Requirements
Direct, hands-on experience using ADP Workforce Now across Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Recruitment modules is required
Proven ability to process full-cycle payroll with a strong emphasis on accuracy and compliance
Experience supporting multi-state payroll for a workforce of 500 or more employees
Working knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour requirements, and employment-related practices
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with employees and internal teams
Prior HR support experience is preferred, particularly in environments where payroll and recruiting responsibilities overlap
