Job Description:

We are looking for an expert Payroll Specialist to join a Manufacturing team located in Markham.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage bi-weekly and weekly payroll processing for both hourly and salaried employees across Canada
  • Verify and reconcile timecards to ensure accurate tracking of hours worked, overtime, and paid time off
  • Calculate and process payroll adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and other compensation components
  • Ensure adherence to federal, provincial, and local payroll tax regulations, including withholding and reporting requirements
  • Produce detailed payroll reports and provide insights to management on payroll metrics, trends, and costs
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, deductions, and earnings statements promptly and effectively
  • Work closely with the HR department to onboard new employees and ensure their correct setup in the payroll system
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including the preparation and distribution of T4 forms
  • Stay informed about updates in payroll laws and regulations to maintain compliance and mitigate risks
  • Continuously seek and implement improvements to streamline payroll processes and enhance efficiency

Requirements:

  • PCP or PLP designation preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience processing payroll for Canadian employees is required
  • Multiprovince payroll processing experience is required
  • Experience with ADP WFN is required
