Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated Payroll Specialist to join a Retail team located in Mississauga. Position: Payroll Specialist. Location: Mississauga. Industry: Retail. Type: 6 months contract with potential to convert permanent

Job Responsibility:

  • Process bi-weekly and weekly payroll for over 1000 employees across Canada accurately and on time using ADP WFN and Ceridian Dayforce, UKG
  • Verify and reconcile timecards to ensure accuracy of hours worked, overtime, and paid time off
  • Calculate and process adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and other compensation elements
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll tax regulations, including withholding and reporting requirements
  • Generate payroll reports and provide insights to management on payroll metrics, trends, and costs
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and earnings statements
  • Collaborate with HR to onboard new employees and ensure accurate setup in the payroll system
  • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including T4 preparation and distribution
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency

Requirements:

  • PCP or PLP designation preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Canadian payroll experience is required
  • Multiprovince payroll processing experience is required
  • Experience with UKG or ADP is an asset
  • Experience working within retail or similar industries is a great asset
  • Knowledge of US Payroll is a great asset
