We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a manufacturing organization in Bolingbrook, Illinois on a contract basis with the potential for a long-term opportunity. This role is ideal for a payroll specialist who can manage complex, high-volume payroll operations with accuracy across multiple states. The position focuses on end-to-end payroll administration, union-related payroll processing, and resolving payroll tax discrepancies while supporting a large employee population.
Job Responsibility
Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of more than 500 employees, ensuring timely and accurate pay each cycle
Administer multi-state payroll activities, including proper earnings, deductions, and compliance with jurisdictional requirements
Manage union payroll components such as fringes and dues, maintaining accurate calculations and remittances
Use ADP Workforce Now to maintain payroll records, review transactions, and support ongoing payroll operations
Research and correct state payroll tax issues, including reconciling past discrepancies and helping restore compliance
Review payroll data for accuracy, investigate variances, and resolve issues related to employee pay and deductions
Partner with internal stakeholders to address payroll questions and support consistent payroll processes across the organization
Requirements
At least 3 years of payroll experience, including responsibility for full-cycle payroll processing
Hands-on experience running payroll for 500 or more employees
Strong background in multi-state payroll administration and payroll tax compliance
Practical experience working in ADP Workforce Now
Knowledge of union payroll practices, including fringes and dues
Proven ability to identify, research, and resolve state tax errors or cleanup issues
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive payroll information with accuracy and discretion
