A rapidly expanding professional services organization is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing, reporting, and compliance activities for a multi-state workforce. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside Human Resources and Accounting leadership while supporting critical payroll functions. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced with high-volume payroll environments.
Job Responsibility
Process biweekly and semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Audit timesheets, earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings
Maintain payroll records and employee information
Process bonuses, commissions, garnishments, and payroll adjustments
Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on schedule
Assist with payroll tax reporting and year-end processing
Support payroll audits and compliance reviews
Reconcile payroll reports and general ledger accounts
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Respond to employee payroll inquiries
Coordinate with HR regarding employee changes and onboarding activities
Assist with payroll system updates and process improvements
Requirements
3+ years of payroll processing experience
Experience with ADP Workforce Now, UKG, Paylocity, Paycom, or similar systems
Multi-state payroll experience preferred
Strong knowledge of California payroll laws and regulations
Advanced Excel skills preferred
