Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage and process full cycle payroll. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Job Responsibility

  • Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records in the payroll system
  • Review and validate timesheets, earnings, deductions, bonuses, and adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policies
  • Manage payroll-related changes (new hires, terminations, promotions, benefits deductions)
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies prior to final processing
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to ensure data accuracy and approvals
  • Process off-cycle payrolls, retro pay, and corrections as needed
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and deductions
  • Support internal and external audits and maintain payroll documentation
  • Assist with year-end processing (W-2s, tax filings)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reconciliations)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing
  • Familiarity with garnishments, benefits administration, and tax filings
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field
