We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Burnsville, Minnesota. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate payroll processing and maintaining employee records. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable or payroll, with a strong focus on organizational and communication skills, particularly in the construction sector.
Job Responsibility:
Process invoices accurately by verifying alignment with purchase orders, subcontracts, and customer accounts
Route and track subcontract invoices for approval while addressing any unapproved or rejected items
Oversee the setup of new vendors, including managing W-9 documentation
Maintain and update financial spreadsheets and reports to support accounting activities
Review employee time cards and ensure precise payroll processing
Handle employee file maintenance and ensure compliance with record-keeping standards
Execute additional administrative and accounting duties as needed to support the department
Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to enhance workflow efficiency
Requirements:
At least two years of experience in payroll or accounts payable roles
A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required
Familiarity with the construction industry is an advantage
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Nice to have:
Experience with eCMS software is a plus
