We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a large hourly workforce in Ohio. This contract position is ideal for someone who can manage end-to-end payroll activities with accuracy, maintain dependable coverage for timekeeping functions, and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule and requires a detail-focused individual who can help keep payroll processes running smoothly for approximately 1,000 hourly associates.
Job Responsibility
Process full-cycle payroll for a high-volume hourly employee population with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Provide backup support for timekeeping administration to ensure continuity when team members are unavailable
Review employee hours, attendance records, and payroll inputs to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized
Use ADP Workforce Now to enter, maintain, and validate payroll data, employee updates, and related records
Assist with administration of vacation and time-off requests, including supporting evolving submission methods as processes are updated
Partner with internal stakeholders to answer payroll-related questions and address pay, timecard, or deduction issues promptly
Maintain payroll documentation and audit trails in accordance with company policies and reporting requirements
Help ensure consistent payroll coverage during the workweek by supporting onsite operations during scheduled business hours
Requirements
Proven experience processing full-cycle payroll for large employee populations, preferably 500 or more employees
Hands-on proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and general payroll systems
Strong understanding of payroll practices, timekeeping, and payroll data validation
Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a structured, deadline-driven environment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills for responding to employee and stakeholder payroll inquiries
Availability to work onsite in London, Ohio on a Monday through Friday schedule
