We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a team in Vernon, California on a contract to hire basis. This position is ideal for someone who can manage payroll operations with accuracy, maintain compliance, and support a workforce of approximately 250 employees. The role requires strong hands-on experience with full-cycle payroll processing, including biweekly payroll administration and work within Paycom.
Job Responsibility
Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for a workforce of about 250 employees, ensuring timely and accurate completion each pay period
Administer biweekly payroll activities, including reviewing hours, earnings, deductions, and adjustments before final submission
Maintain payroll records and verify employee data to support compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
Use Paycom to process payroll transactions, troubleshoot discrepancies, and generate payroll-related reports as needed
Coordinate payroll support for employees with domestic and international pay considerations, ensuring proper handling and documentation
Investigate and resolve payroll variances, responding promptly to questions from employees and internal stakeholders
Reconcile payroll information and confirm that taxes, withholdings, and other payroll components are processed correctly
Partner with HR and finance teams to ensure payroll changes such as new employees, departures, and compensation updates are reflected accurately
Requirements
5+ years of payroll experience, including ownership of full-cycle payroll processing
Demonstrated ability to manage biweekly payroll in a fast-paced environment
Hands-on experience using Paycom for payroll administration
Strong understanding of payroll laws, compliance standards, and payroll recordkeeping practices
Experience supporting payroll for a workforce of approximately 250 employees
Familiarity with payroll scenarios involving international employee populations or cross-border pay considerations
High level of accuracy, organization, and problem-solving ability when handling sensitive payroll data
