We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Livonia, Michigan. In this role, you will play a key part in managing payroll processes for a large, multi-state organization. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Process full-cycle payroll, including calculating gross-to-net pay for employees across multiple states and business units
Utilize Workday and ADP Workforce Now to ensure accurate and efficient payroll management
Handle multi-state payroll processing for organizations with over 500 employees, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
Leverage advanced Excel skills to manage data, create reports, and perform payroll reconciliations
Collaborate with internal teams and provide exceptional support in customer-facing interactions
Address and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues in a timely and thorough manner
Assist with timekeeping processes, including experience with Kronos Dimensions, to ensure accurate time data
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices to ensure compliance
Generate and distribute payroll reports for internal stakeholders as needed
Requirements:
At least 2 years of hands-on payroll processing experience, including full-cycle payroll (gross to net)
Proficiency in multi-state payroll operations for large organizations
Strong knowledge of payroll systems such as Workday and ADP Workforce Now
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to use pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach
Experience in fast-paced payroll environments, demonstrating the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Kronos Dimensions is a plus
