We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Rochester, New York. This role involves managing payroll operations for a large workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all payroll processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-cycle payroll and familiarity with multi-state payroll practices.
Job Responsibility:
Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 900 employees using ADP Workforce Now
Maintain and update employee payroll records, including pay rates, deductions, and direct deposit details
Monitor and manage balances for vacation time and other paid time off
Handle workers’ compensation tracking and make appropriate payroll adjustments
Verify payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly
Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters with attention to detail and in a timely manner
Ensure adherence to company policies and compliance with payroll regulations
Collaborate with internal teams to support payroll-related initiatives and reporting needs
Requirements:
Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing, preferably for large organizations
Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems
Knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and practices
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality
Effective communication skills for addressing payroll-related inquiries
Familiarity with workers’ compensation tracking and payroll adjustments
