Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations in Rosenhayn, NJ. This Long-term Contract position will focus on accurate payroll administration, discrepancy resolution, employee record updates, and reporting support across payroll and finance. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll processing experience, sound judgment with confidential information, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Review employee time records, identify inconsistencies, and resolve payroll-related discrepancies before processing
  • Maintain and update payroll system data to ensure employee information remains accurate and current
  • Support payroll runs by validating timekeeping details, entering adjustments, and investigating differences in results
  • Partner with benefits contacts and external providers to ensure deductions, retirement contributions, and related withholdings are applied correctly
  • Prepare routine and on-demand payroll reports for internal stakeholders and external requirements
  • Communicate with employees and internal teams to address payroll questions and help resolve issues efficiently
  • Handle confidential personnel and compensation data with a high degree of discretion and accuracy
  • Contribute to additional finance and HR projects as assigned, including reconciliation and reporting activities

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • additional post-secondary education is preferred
  • At least 3 years of payroll experience
  • related background in Human Resource or benefits may also be considered
  • Hands-on experience with timekeeping and payroll platforms such as Paycom, Kronos, or similar systems
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll processing, including reconciliations, earnings, deductions, and tax-related calculations
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills in Excel or Google Sheets
  • experience with pivot tables or automation tools is a plus
  • Ability to manage multi-state payroll tasks with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive employee and payroll information
