We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in New York, New York. In this Contract to permanent employment opportunity, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient and accurate payroll processing for a high-volume, multi-state operation. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and strong expertise in payroll systems and compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Process weekly payroll for a large workforce across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Handle payroll reconciliations to verify and resolve discrepancies
Manage payroll-related adjustments, including garnishments and other deductions
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
Generate and maintain internal payroll reports to support organizational needs
Collaborate with billing teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data
Utilize ADP Workforce Now for payroll management and reporting
Analyze and manage large data sets using advanced Excel formulas
Address payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly
Stay up-to-date on payroll compliance standards and contribute to process improvements
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing
Expertise in handling payroll for over 500 employees, including multi-state operations
Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now for payroll management
Strong understanding of payroll compliance and tax regulations
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including working with large data sets and formulas
Experience with payroll reconciliations and adjustments, including garnishments
Ability to generate detailed payroll reports and analyze data effectively
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
